🐸👑 Perseverance: From Edison to Brian Tracy's Success Principles
of My Store AdminPerseverance as the Key to Success
Perseverance is one of the most valuable assets a person striving for success can possess. It's a principle that Brian Tracy consistently emphasizes in his books and lectures, and it's also a key element on which we base our joint book, Successful Mindset: The Key to Achieving Your Goals. As a co-author of this publication, I want to share with you how the principles of perseverance, which I learned from Brian, a mentor and an icon of personal development, have impacted my life and career, confirming their effectiveness and universality.
The Inspiring Story of Thomas Edison
The story of Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, is often cited as the epitome of perseverance. Despite countless failures, Edison never abandoned his pursuit of creating a source of light that would change the world. His determination and steadfastness in the face of obstacles are an inspiration for anyone dreaming of great achievements.
Before Edison, many inventors worked on creating a practical electric light bulb, but none achieved success to the extent that their invention became widely used. For example, Humphry Davy, James Bowman Lindsay, William Sawyer, and Sir Joseph Wilson Swan, among others, contributed to the development of light bulb technology by experimenting with different filaments and light sources. Joseph Swan, a British inventor, independently developed a working light bulb several years before Edison and even began commercial production. However, his versions were short-lived and not as efficient as Edison's light bulb.
Edison's Success
Using his resources and ability to experiment on a large scale, Edison developed a light bulb with a carbon filament that could shine for over 1200 hours. Edison, through his determination, perseverance, and ability to work on improving the project, led to the creation of the first commercially viable electric light bulb. Edison did not give up after many failed attempts and continued working, which ultimately brought him success. His work on the light bulb is often cited as an example of perseverance and pursuit of a goal, despite initial failures.
Perseverance as the Key to Success
Like Edison, each of us encounters difficulties on the way to achieving our goals. The key to success, however, is not giving up after the first, second, or even third failure. Brian often repeats that most things do not succeed the first time; many also do not succeed the second or third and further times. And only persevering people achieve success, as it is they who continue to act despite failures and persistently pursue their goal. Sometimes they change paths to the goal, sometimes they change methods, but they never give up on the goal. Brian Tracy teaches that perseverance is not just the ability to continue working despite adversity but also the flexibility to adjust strategies and methods of action to achieve the intended goal. This lesson I've incorporated into my life, facing professional and personal challenges. In our book Successful Mindset, we discuss in detail how perseverance can become your greatest ally on the path to success. We cite historical and contemporary examples that illustrate how unwavering pursuit of a goal, even in the face of failures, is the foundation of achievements on the scale of Edison.
Practical Application of Perseverance Principles
I have personally experienced how incorporating the principles of perseverance into my life has led to achieving goals I could only dream of before. As a student of Brian Tracy, I applied these lessons to develop not only my professional competencies but also to build a strong personal brand that reflects the values I stand by. My journey shows that the principles I learned from Brian are not just theoretical concepts but practical tools for achieving success. I encourage everyone who strives to realize their dreams to adopt a stance of perseverance. Regardless of the obstacles you encounter, remember that every failure is another step towards your success. Just like Edison, who illuminated the world, and Brian Tracy, who enlightens the path to personal and professional development, you can become the architect of your own future. Let this principle of perseverance, so close to the heart of every success seeker, become the light that guides you through all challenges. Together with Successful Mindset and Brian Tracy's teachings, you have everything you need to achieve what once seemed impossible.
Ability to Connect Diverse Worlds
I am interested in many things. You can talk to me about both plastics processing and recycling and art history. I know the works of Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Adolf Menzel, Tamara de Lempicka, Johannes Vermeer, Pablo Picasso, and I am familiar with extruders for producing film, pipes, and sheet profiles :-) I can implement the entire PET bottle recycling process, from a bottle in the landfill to finished regranulate, which can be reused to produce water bottles. I provide consulting on plastic recycling and extrusion.
Endless Curiosity and Desire for Understanding
I am interested in health and the impact of nutrition on the human body. I know how activated charcoal affects the human body, I am knowledgeable about herbs and their practical application. I am interested in the structure of water and the fact that water has memory. I study the works of the Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto and his thesis that thoughts and emotions affect water and thereby us, as we consist of over 70% water. I have several microscopes at home and study the structure of water and how freezing water affects its structure rebuilding. I read a lot of books. My library surely contains well over 1000 books, and it is certainly not fiction. The professional books and journals I read deepen my knowledge of the world and humanity in the world. This interdisciplinary approach may seem strange to many people who perceive me. However, I try to combine knowledge from various fields and often reach conclusions that engineers in the industry, who only focus on one field, do not reach.
Inspiration and Goal Pursuit
My only "challenge" is that I cannot limit myself to just one industry or topic. I am interdisciplinary, much like Leonardo da Vinci, who was both a painter and an inventor. Similarly, I build machines for plastics processing and recycling, and in my free time, instead of watching TV shows, I paint oil paintings. I am interested in quantum physics, healthy nutrition, herbs, the influence of thoughts and emotions on our lives. Fortunately, I have chosen two industries to devote myself to, and I stick to them. The rest I know for myself and apply as needed.
Portrait of Brian Tracy Reminds Me of the Principles He Preaches
Recently, I created a portrait of Brian Tracy, which now hangs in his office in San Diego. Before sending the oil painting to Brian, I scanned it, and its reproduction adorns my office, reminding me daily of the success principles preached by Brian. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian in person and talking to him. Brian is not only an icon but also a very personable man with a sense of humor. You would surely like him.
Summary
Similar to Thomas Edison, who faced difficulties in the traditional education system and whose unique path of development was shaped by the support and teaching of his mother, I also find my roots of inspiration in my family home. Although I didn't struggle with learning, my father Ryszard taught me an unconventional approach to various subjects. His interests, experiments, and unwavering pursuit of his own goals were my first lesson that passion and curiosity are key in finding one's own path. My father was my first mentor, and Brian Tracy became the second. I learned a lot from both of them. I implemented their teachings in life and checked if they worked. And... they do :-)
What I learned from my father and Brian Tracy, I apply in my daily life and profession, which brings me excellent results. My ability to combine knowledge from different fields, openness to new ideas, and perseverance in pursuing goals are the fruit of these two influential mentors in my life. My father, showing me the importance of experimenting, trying, and discipline, and Brian Tracy, emphasizing the value of perseverance and a positive attitude, equipped me with tools that allow me not only to achieve success but also to inspire others to pursue their passions and goals.
Applying these principles in practice has allowed me not only to become an expert in the field of plastics processing and recycling but also to develop my passions, such as oil painting, which brings me immense satisfaction and relaxation. My journey shows that with curiosity and perseverance, you can break barriers and achieve things that initially seem impossible.
That's who I am, a bit crazy, but were outstanding people ever normal? What is normal? Normal is conformity, being like others. And I am not like others. My interests and passions lead me through life, shedding light on endless curiosity and a desire for understanding, which in today's world may be perceived as exceptionally unconventional and bold. In a world where many follow beaten paths, I choose my own path, a bridge between learning and art, technology and nature, practical application and philosophical reflection. It is this extraordinary mix of passion and interests that makes every day for me a discovery of new horizons, a constant search, and evidence that true wealth lies in the multitude of perspectives.
